CDP-accredited age assessment training

EG Age Assessments Consultancy is CDP-accredited, providing both in-person and webinar-based age assessment training for a broad client base across the UK, helping them grow their own capacity and undertake case law-compliant age assessments.

The training courses we offer cater to not only Local Authorities, but also Independent Social Workers, legal firms, NGOs, and private sector entities. This training equips our clients to conduct age assessments in compliance with Merton and case law standards.

Formerly known as the ‘Full age assessment training (CPD accredited)’, this course has been modified in light of new legal cases and court mandates, focusing on Merton and Case Law Compliant Age Assessments, approved by CPD UK. We will no longer refer to it as a ‘short’ or ‘full’ form assessment. Each participant completing this course will receive a CPD Certified Certificate.

Available as a 1-day in-person training course, or as an e-learning course with webinar support.

This course is for qualified social work professionals who are responsible for undertaking age assessments.

Trainees will gain a detailed insight into the age assessment process and learn how to confidently undertake robust but fair Merton-compliant age assessments.

Specific training for management staff within councils and local authorities.

Provides insight into relevant and current themes, pre-action protocols, and case law to ensure the Local Authority acts and responds in a lawful and appropriate manner.

For placement & key workers, foster carers, appropriate adults, social workers, personal assistants, and generally any professionals that are linked to age assessments.

Provides an understanding of the age assessment process, immigration social care, and the journey of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the Port of Dover into the community.

Participants will receive awareness certification from EG Age Assessments Consultancy.

Designed to enhance specific areas of your skills, these will be available as both e-learning and training sessions. These short courses include but are not limited to:

  • Initial Age Assessment at Point of Contact
  • Conducting Age Assessments
  • Writing Merton Case Law Compliant Age Assessment
  • Case Law, Judicial Review, and Legal Challenges
  • Templates and Toolkits for Age Assessment

Flexibility will be provided for short updates within these courses.

Delivered by experienced practitioners, this training will cover any changes in the legislation since your initial training, as well as up-to-date case law and best practice guidance. We keep up to date with the latest case law related to age assessments and offer guidance on how to implement it.

The training will be interactive and will include opportunities for questions and discussion.

E-Learning Age Assessment: Self-Paced Learning

This is a unique CDP-accredited course, suitable for Social Workers in England, Wales, Scotland, & Northern Island, the course is based around 8 modules that conclude with completion of an online test paper.

Participants must successfully complete each module before they can progress to the next. Once complete, the trainee will be automatically sent their accreditation.

While in theory a one-day program, this e-learning course is self-paced, so staff can complete it at their own convenience and fit around other work and responsibilities.
